Terry H. Monroe
Terry Monroe has been in the business
of establishing, successfully operating, and selling businesses for more than
25 years. At American Business Brokers, he serves as a consultant for business
buyers and sellers throughout the nation, while his knowledge and expertise in
multi-store operations and sales has led to several multi-million dollar transactions.
As an expert source in the c-store industry, he writes a routine “Financial
Insights” guest column for Convenience Store News and has been
featured in CSP, NPN, and NACS magazines. For nearly
a decade, his in-depth knowledge of enterprising, franchising, financing, and
acquisitions have generated over 400 successful transactions for ABB, most of
them in the convenience store industry.
As an owner of more than 30 different businesses
and 10 different franchises, Terry has a thorough understanding of business growth
and enterprise management. With ABB, Terry has created a unique organization
that is a leader in the c-store industry, offering broker and consulting services
to business buyers and sellers, while also developing brokers through a comprehensive
training program. Through ABB, Terry has developed a personal side to the business
transaction. The company offers services to clients regarding valuations, mergers
and acquisitions, business sales, and franchise opportunities with the focus

while managing the transaction for the seller.
Throughout his career, Terry has been a business
leader. He has served as president and chief operating officer for five organizations,
including New Sprit Inc., C&M Video Inc., Entertainment One Inc., TPM Inc.,
and American Business Brokers Inc. Terry’s business ventures range from
the discovery of more than 20 million barrels of oil in the St. James Oil Field,
to the founding and franchising of a national video store chain, to involvement
with Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., as a video rental provider that included 750 employees
in 155 stores in 27 states and 2 countries.
Seeking adventure in the business world and
in his own life, Terry is an accomplished mountaineer, aircraft pilot, musician
and philanthropist. He has climbed to the summit of many of the world’s
most famous peaks, including Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, Mount Aconcagua in
Argentina, Mount Jaungfrau and Mount Brighthorn in Switzerland. His adventurous
spirit has led him on hikes through the Andes Mountains and the lost city of
Machu Pichu, to river rafting and exploration of rain forests in Costa Rica.
Always seeking community involvement, Terry has volunteered in fund raising efforts
for The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, Hope for Haiti, Naples
Community Hospital and Duke University cancer research. click

William Cash
Comes to American Business Brokers with more than 22 years of retail
and management experience with such companies as Wal-Mart, Walgreens Drug
Stores and later as President of his own 32-store convenience store chain
in Central Illinois and Indiana. As president of his own company he faced
the daily challenged of merchandising, selection of vendors, pricing,
site selection, volatile gas prices and personnel issues. His experience
is invaluable to either an individual entering the business or to a present
day operator who faces these same daily challenges. He enjoys working
with people and helping them to find solutions to their problems in their
pursuit of buying or selling of a business.

Michael has a combined 10 years of experience in brokerage, consulting, and management.
Michael has worked with a number of corporate and individual clients toward achieving their merger or acquisition objectives. Having graduated from Loyola University of Chicago & Olney Central College Michael has used his degrees and experience to understand what it takes to effectively market businesses in today’s rapidly changing economic landscape. Michael has an intimate understanding of entrepreneurship. Michael is skilled at sorting through the complex issues that can arise when facilitating a merger or acquisition. Jim Franks
Jim has over 30 years of retail industry experience concentrating in
the grocery, convenience, and fuel marketing industries. He has supervised
up to 220 convenience stores, purchased products and created marketing
plans for large groups of stores, and has extensive experience in business
planning and marketing. In recent years, Jim has managed the purchases
and divestitures of convenience stores for various companies giving him
a unique insight to this complex and sensitive activity. This insight
is invaluable to his clients by helping them to find businesses that are
priced appropriately with incremental profit potential and is an invaluable
quality when assisting clients who are interested in selling their business
and receiving the maximum value from their business.

Brian Barkley
Brian Barkley comes to ABB with an extensive background in
management, sales, manufacturing, production and retail experience.
After graduating in 1980 from Creighton University School of
Business, Brian became President and co-owner of a successful
packaged food wholesaler in Central Illinois. He has continued to
live in the Peoria, Illinois area with his wife Rebecca and four
children. Brian’s hobbies include golf, jazz, and serving on various organizations
throughout the community.

Manahar (Mike) Patel
comes to American Business Brokers with over seventeen years experience
in the commercial retail industry. Specifically, he offers superb in-depth knowledge
of Convenience Stores and Liquor stores. Being an owner and operator of businesses
for such a long time gives him a real understanding of business valuation and
an appreciation of the efforts needed to turn any business into a successful
venture. Mike holds a Masters Degree in Accounting with Management. His educational
background coupled with broad experience superbly qualifies him to execute any
buying or selling transaction flawlessly. One of Mike’s strength lies in

Dan Sperry
With a leading approach to client service and a passion for results, Dan
has built his reputation on leading his buyers and sellers through the complex
lifecycle of a business acquisition. Dan recognizes the dynamic relationship
between current market conditions, emerging trends, and price. He uses this paradigm
to his advantage when negotiating. Understanding the factors that set price is
critical; this is the key to getting deals done.

Rizwan Aziz
Rizwan Aziz has owned and operated convenience stores and gas stations for
almost a decade. He brings to American Business Brokers an intimate knowledge
of the workings of these properties and his experience is invaluable to his role
as a transaction broker. Rizwan received a degree in Business Administration
from the National College in Karachi, Pakistan and a Certificate in Management & Administration
from the Institute of Maaco in King of Prussia, PA. Rizwan specializes in dealing
with multi-lingual buyers and sellers in the Southeast United States, in particular
Georgia and Florida. He is a skilled negotiator and has an extensive knowledge
of gas stations, convenience stores, restaurants, hotels, motels, and other properties.

Dave DePaoli
Dave De Paoli graduated from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles
in 1993, and has practiced both business and real estate law. Mr. De Paoli received
a Bachelor of Science Degree in Entrepreneurship/Marketing, and a Minor in Economics
from California State University, Los Angeles in 1989. Mr. De Paoli has also
been a licensed real estate broker in California since 1999. As part owner of
several businesses himself, and with his background in business and real estate
law, he is highly qualified to represent sellers as well as buyers.
